AS & A Level Accounting introduces students to the practical importance and real-world application of accounting. Learners study key areas such as financial accounting, cost and management accounting, and the role and responsibilities of an accountant.

Students who pursue AS & A Level Accounting develop the ability to understand, apply, analyze, and evaluate accounting information to support business decision-making and communicate effectively with stakeholders. Structure of AS & A Level Accounting

AS & A Level Accounting is assessed through three examination papers:

Paper 1

  • 30 multiple-choice questions (30 marks) based on AS Level syllabus
  • AS Level: 30%
  • A Level: 15%

Paper 2

  • 90 marks with four structured questions:

    • Question 1: Financial Accounting (30 marks)

    • Question 2: Financial Accounting (30 marks)

    • Question 3: Financial Accounting (30 marks)

    • Question 4: Cost & Management Accounting (30 marks)

  • AS Level: 70%
  • A Level: 35%

Paper 3 (A Level Only)

  • 150 marks assessing additional A Level content, with required AS knowledge

  • Divided into two sections:

    • Section A (4 × 25 marks): Financial Accounting

    • Section B (2 × 25 marks): Cost & Management Accounting

  • A Level: 50%
