AS & A Level Psychology aims to help students understand key psychological concepts, theories, and research methods. The syllabus builds awareness of ethical and moral issues in psychological research while developing essential skills in analysis, interpretation, application, and evaluation.
The course introduces learners to Psychology’s four main domains: biological, cognitive, social, and learning. - Short-answer and essay questions based on core studies
- AS Level: 50%
- A Level: 25%
Paper 2: Research Methods
- 60 marks
- Divided into three sections:
Section A (22 marks): Short-answer questions based on core studies
Section B (24 marks): Scenario-based questions
Section C (14 marks): Design-based question in two parts
Paper 3: Specialist Options – Theory
60 marks
Candidates answer two questions from two specialist options (30 marks each):
Question 1: 12 marks
Question 2: 18 marks
Paper 4: Specialist Options – Application
