Structure of IGCSE ICT

All IB Pathways IGCSE ICT candidates are required to take three externally assessed papers:

Paper 1: Theory

  • All questions are compulsory
  • Maximum marks: 80
  • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
  • Externally assessed

Paper 2: Document Production, Databases, and Presentation

  • All tasks are compulsory
  • Maximum marks: 70
  • Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
  • Externally assessed

Paper 3: Spreadsheets and Website Authoring

  • All tasks are compulsory
  • Maximum marks: 70
  • Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes
  • Externally assessed

The Grading Rules

Key points related to IGCSE ICT grading:

  • Grades range from A (highest) to G (lowest)
  • Students who do not meet the minimum standard for Grade G are reported as Ungraded
  • The letter “Q” on the statement of results indicates Pending
  • The letter “X” on the statement of results indicates No Result
